The holidays can be a time of excitement joy and yes, stress. With all the shopping, parties, family events, and usual obligations the holidays can be a time when we forget to take care of our physical and mental well being. Not taking care of ourselves can lead to illness, sadness, and painful situations.

Take care of yourself both physically and mentally. Make sure your body is working at its highest level, this is done with regular chiropractic care. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, this is the time when your body is healing and repairing. Eat the right foods. The holidays can tempt you to eat unhealthy foods. Your body needs the right foods to build new, healthy cells (and a few cookies never hurt anyone.) Continue with your regular exercise plan, it will boost your energy levels.

Physical health is important, but so is your mental well being. Take time for yourself to just relax, read a book, or talk to a good friend on the phone. You can take control of your holiday situation. Attend all of the activities you are excited about, but learn to say no to the activities that increase your stress. There is no sense in wasting your time and energy in a bad situation.
