"This may look like just a silly piece of paper to most people but this triggered some happy tears tonight. I have been scared to share our success story with the fear of "jinxing it" and not knowing if things will get worse again. But, seeing this paper that Henry did at school today made me realize that I have to share in case it can help someone else! His sentence at the bottom of his paper says; I am also thankful for: I AM NOT SICK ANYMORE!!!

4.5 years ago we were on vacation, Henry got really sick, (horrible, wet sounding cough) and was prescribed his first round of oral steroids because his lungs/airways just were not handling it well (he was 1).

4 years ago right about this time of year Henry was getting his first breathing treatment at the doctors office (he was 1 and a half).

3.5 years ago, he was admitted in to the hospital with RSV. To hear his cough and the way he sounded the nurse swore up and down that his chest x-ray would show that he had pneumonia. (And I thought, oh this is just how he sounds when he has a cold.) Thankfully he did not have pneumonia but it was a long night of oral steroids again but this time many breathing treatments pretty close to each other. They said we can't even consider discharging him until we can get his treatments spaced out to atleast 3 hours apart. After that we got sent home the next afternoon with a nebulizer of our own. They said unfortunately, don't expect this to be your last time coming to the hospital.

Over the last 3.5 years, we have been to the pediatrician, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, and allergist over and over and over again. I'm pretty sure we have tried every steroid inhaler they make (Flovent, Symbicort, Advair, and more) Albuterol, his nebulizer, different rounds of oral steroids, allergy meds, Flonase nasal spray (which gave him horrendous nose bleeds), spoonfuls of honey, Acid reflux medicine, amoxicillin (and others similar to it), checked his sinuses from a Cat Scan, and so so many other things, and still no answers. We had him tested for cystic fibrosis, and we thanked God that he was negative for that. We bought an air purifier for our house thinking there has to be something that is irritating his airways and causing him to sound like this.

(EDITING to add: we tried different humidifiers, taking him in the bathroom while running the hot shower, they said take him outside to cool air to get him to stop coughing, he would cough so hard in the middle of the night, all night long some nights that he would wake up puking, we would sleep with him upright in the recliner during the worst stents of him being sick, anything to get through some of the worst nights, as well as ibuprofen and Tylenol). The only somewhat diagnosis we ever got was viral induced asthma.. but even the doctor wasn't 100% convinced with that because the inhaled steroids should have maintained him better in between sicknesses.

The last year and a half, it got to where we couldn't really get him cleared up at all. Anyone who knew Henry, also knew his awful sounding COUGH. And trust me, with Covid going on, and having a kid with a croupy/barking sounding cough, I got A LOT of looks. Oral steroids really weren't touching it anymore, and neither was anything else. The next step was going to be to put him under and scope his airways as well as his esophagus and take biopsies of his esophagus on the way down to look for EOE as well as literally anything else. The doctor said, he's just a giant question mark.

THEN!!!! Bradley's Aunt Mary Ellen suggested to his Mom, maybe they should try the chiropractor for Henry. I was extremely skeptical with everything we had already tried, how could that work if none of the other things are working. But what did we have to lose at this point.....

We made our first appointment in the beginning of August, right when he was starting to get a runny nose as well. So I thought well this will be a great test! In about 2-3 weeks, he was over his runny nose AND HIS COUGH WAS GONE!!!!!!!! And has been gone every since!!! I could not even believe what we had witnessed.. she fixed our kid after everything we had went through and tried!! After many doctors appointments of sitting in their office racking our brain of what could it be and what should we try next and just feeling helpless; she fixed him!! Not only is his cough gone, but we have also stopped giving him all his different medications. All of them!!! He is a brand new kid!! I do still worry that some form of asthma-related issues will still pop up down the road here and there, but for right now he is perfectly healthy and sounds just like a regular kid again!! All thanks to the Chiropractor!! I hope that this super long post helps someone else with similar problems!

"I started chiropractic correction for a major condition. I was a healthy kid except for one problem, my tonsils. When I was younger, they would swell to the point that I had a very difficult time swallowing and eating. It would happen two or three times per year. Each time I would have to go to my doctor, and he would give me antibiotics, threaten me with a tonsillectomy and send me on my way. Usually, it would be a long, painful week to 10 days before I could swallow again.

I dealt with this problem through high school and into college years.

He also explained to me that I needed my tonsils. They are a major immune system organ, protecting my throat and lungs from infection and cancer. The body is truly amazing.

I no longer have trouble with my throat. Since then, my wife has become a chiropractor. I have a lifesaving adjustment a minimum of one time per week with my family. I know my body is functioning as best it can, despite no chiropractic care and lots of injuries in my younger years (football, basketball, 4-wheeling, stress, sitting in a school desk, and many more).

"Last year, I slipped on a sheet of ice and landed flat on my back. I stood up and thought "Oh no.....I need to go see Dr. Amy now!". I left the job site and headed into Freedlund Family Chiropractic, which would practically become my second home for the next 6 months. The bruising and swelling around my right SI Joint caused excruciating pain that ran down my leg and to my toes. I couldn't sit in most chairs, sleep for more than a few hours, even driving my truck the 15 minutes into Winnebago to get adjusted was unbearable.

My story isn't one of instant success. I wasn't healed over night, but I trusted Dr. Amy and the process. I followed what she said to do-I took the supplements, rubbed on the oils, iced again and again...yes, I even started doing yoga! (And I still do it every morning!) I'm not going to lie, there were plenty of times that I lost hope. Pain really does take a toll on your energy, mental health-there's nothing that it doesn't affect. But, I stuck to it. I would hobble my way into Freedlund Family Chiropractic every day they were open. Things would start to get better and then I'd move the wrong way or push myself too hard and I'd be 10 steps back in my progress. Eventually the steps back were less and less. Progress felt so slow, but it was progress. Then things just started feeling better. In August, I was able to drive to CA to drop off our oldest son at school. Three long 12 hour days of driving, moving him into his new apartment, and then a long flight back to Illinois. "This is the story of my ten-year-old son, Phillip. When Phillip was 7 years old, he had a chronic runny nose, watery eyes, cough, and was sick most of the time.
