Dear Friend,

Let me start with the photo in this letter. You know, when I meet people in town, they usually say, "Oh, I know you, you're  Dr. Laura... I've seen your picture with your family."  We have nine children, and now four grandchildren. In this picture, my husband Mark and I are holding our newest grandson, Isaac; who was born in January. The new year has brought new life, hope, and vision. Years ago, I had a light bulb moment that I want to let everyone in on.

Let me tell you my story...

As I grew up, my mother would tell me to stand up straight, stop hunching over... She brought me to a doctor who gave me awful looking shoes to correct my "pigeon toed feet". I always loved gymnastics, roller skating, and biking. My mother enrolled me in ballet and tap dance classes, hoping that it would help my posture. When I was in high school, I could here a clicking sound with every step I took. It was downright annoying. I stretched, exercised, and just tried to work it out.

At that time, I listened to a radio program every Saturday morning. People would call in, and ask the doctor questions. He would talk about issues that they were having. I found it interesting, and liked the idea that the recommendations were all natural; with no medications or surgery.

It was not until after I had my third child that I finally went in to see this radio doctor. Once again that clicking was getting worse as I walked. He was a chiropractor. He had an album full of testimonials in the waiting area, which his patients had written; to thank him for how much he helped them. I will never forget the question he asked me. "Do you have a bad body?" He told me that God makes us perfect. I soon learned that all these things were related to my low back and pelvis. Before long I was walking and jogging, without a hitch!

Years later we moved to Lena, IL. After I had my sixth child, I was working on a project in our home, and backed into a shelf. I felt a quick sharp pain, but then it was alright. I finished up, and didn't think twice about it. The next day, when I went for a jog, my legs felt like concrete. By the end of my daily run, I noticed that my foot was dragging. I could not even lift it up. My thoughts raced in fear. I panicked, and wondered if I would be able to walk, let alone run again. I went to my new chiropractor, willing to do whatever it took to have my foot functioning again. At that time, I was training for a marathon. This was to be a "light bulb moment" for me. Not only could I run a few weeks later, but I was faster and stronger. I was able to run the marathon that I had been training for. On Mother's Day, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, I completed the marathon as the first female finisher, and qualified for the Boston Marathon! Chiropractic care was no longer only about neck and back pain to me; it was about having the best quality of life.

I went back to school to become a chiropractor, so that I could help others to live their best life possible. I am thrilled when patients tell me that they can now do the things that they thought were impossible. They share their stories on how they are getting their life back! That's why I love what I do, but I can't take the credit. My confession is that I have never healed anyone of anything . What I do is perform a specific chiropractic adjustment, to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself . We get tremendous results. It's as simple as that!

Being a chiropractor can be tough, because there are many so-called experts out there. They tell people a lot of things that are just plain ridiculous about my profession, but the studies speak for themselves. The Virginia study, for example, showed that over 99% of patients, who saw a chiropractor, were satisfied with their results. That's incredible!

There is a lot of talk about healthcare these days. You might be surprised that most insurance provide coverage for chiropractic care. We hear people say daily, "I had no idea that my insurance would pay for me to get adjusted." Chiropractic care is very affordable healthcare. In our office, we will always show you what it will cost to receive care, before you owe us anything. Many people find that they actually save money on their health care expenses, by seeing a chiropractor. Another way to save... studies show that chiropractic can double your immune capacity, naturally, without drugs. The immune system fights colds, flu, and other sickness; so, you may not be running off to the doctor as much. This saves your family time and money.

You Benefit from an Amazing Offer:

Look, it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to correct your health. You are going to write a check to someone for your health care expenses, you might as well write one for a lesser amount for chiropractic. When you call our office at (815) 335- 1381 (by March 31, 2016) you will receive my entire new patient exam for $37. That is a consultation, exam, and x-rays if needed... the whole ball of wax. This exam could cost you $250.00 elsewhere. Additional family members are $20. Further care is very affordable.

I have affordable Family Wellness Plans:

You see, I am not trying to entice you, to come see me with this low start up fee, to then make it up with high fees later down the line. Further care is very important to consider when making your choice of doctor.

Great care at a great fee...

Please, I hope that there is no misunderstanding about the quality of care just because I have a lower exam fee. You will get great care at a great fee. My qualifications...
